Life Is a Difficult Journey

Life is a difficult journey. Regardless of all the abuse I had suffered through, I made it through the fire only because of my Loving Heavenly Parent. Because of how difficult life is to navigate, especially when things such as abuse are thrown into the equation, I wish to share with you my faith journey.

Abuse is nutritious at destroying someone’s belief in a Loving Parent. Our earthly parents have the responsibility of being a child’s first example of love. They are responsible for teaching their children that they are precious and worthy of love. If, for some reason, a mother or father is unable to relay that lesson of validation successfully, the child begins life handicapped. I experienced this tragic occurrence myself. To overcome it, I had to blaze my way through all the lies and abusive wounds inflicted upon me by my parents, my children’s father, and others to find my pathway home to my Lord.

I fully get how challenging it can be to believe in a loving God when debilitated by wounds inflicted upon us from this world. It is not easy to find that blooming flower of Hope among the countless weeds of despair. But don’t give up searching. Hope exists.

When I started to blog about 3 years ago, I placed my focus on healing from abuse. Today, that is still a dominant thread in my writing. However, over these past few years, I have healed even more. And as a result, I have grown even closer to my Lord and Savior. Because of that growth, I can better lean on my faith as the root cord in my writing. In today’s blog, I wish to share with you some of what I have learned.

Life Is a Difficult Journey

Life is too difficult to persist without having a purpose. From the beginning of time, people have groped through darkness seeking a reason far greater than merely survival for their existence. It makes no sense to me how anything could have come into being without GOD the Creator. There must be a Source for everything to have evolved from.

As I witness the world around me, I see how love brings things together and hatred destroys. As a result, I believe that Love must be the woven source that has united all the required elements to create this world we live in today. I fully believe GOD IS that PURE LOVE. GOD IS that WOVEN SOURCE. Love and evil are opposite sources. Pure Love cannot exist within evil any more than darkness can remain within pure light.

When you step into a dark room and turn on a light, the darkness fades away. However, areas of shadows, where the light cannot fully penetrate, still exist. What are these shadow areas? They are the lies others have told you so often that you have come to believe them, lies that strip away your inner value. They are the gaping wounds in your body and soul, inflicted upon you by the evil actions of other wounded souls. We live in an imperfect world filled with imperfect people. We all grope through life, held back by our wounds. The good news is that the one and only source of Pure Light can penetrate through the shadows of our wounds. The Journey of Choice

Because God created us, we are a part of God. Abba’s love for us calls us home. Our Heavenly Parent’s ever-abiding love has graciously granted us free agency and gives each one of us every opportunity we need to choose light over darkness.

In contrast to a belief many hold on to, I do not believe that God created hell. Hell would be an absence of Love. Because of that fact, God could not have had a hand in its making. I believe hell is the result of humankind’s misguided choices to exist absent from God. God does not send us, his blessed creations, to hell. Those who exist in hell have chosen that destination by rejecting God.

I have been blessed with four precious children. All are now grown and have children of their own. My children had the misfortune of having an abusive, narcissistic father who filled their heads with lies, abused them, and trained them in various ways of abuse. I am grateful to say that most of my children have since opened their eyes to the truth and fought their own battles to break the chains of abuse passed down to them.

Each one of my children is on their own healing journey, each in a different phase of stepping into the Light. However, it saddens me that one of my children has chosen to remain in the shadows and follow in his father’s footsteps. Just as I ache for a close, honest relationship with my son, our Heavenly Parent aches to be close to each one of us, His beloved children.

Heed the Call

Our existence here on Earth is riddled with touches of hell created by us all each time we turn our backs on our Lord. But Abba’s Ever-Abiding Love continues to reach out to us, calling us home. Time is an Earthy creation. God knows who ultimately will accept His love and return home and who will reject this most precious gift. This belief I have come to gives me comfort and strength to continue down my path toward healing, breaking chains of abuse along the way.

I know many who read this blog may think differently from me about God’s nature. Many are too wounded to consider even the possibility of a Loving Heavenly Parent, and I understand that. We each have our own healing path to forge. No one person’s path will look like another’s. Some journey down their path at a quickened pace while others take much longer, but none of this matters. All that matters is that you continue at your own pace, stepping forward out of the shadows and into the light of healing.

Due to the extensive religious abuse inflicted upon me, it took me decades to find a church home where I could feel God’s love for myself and all. What supports one person’s journey does not necessarily support another person’s pathway toward healing. Since I have found so much love within the Episcopal Church, I wish to share a link about it. https://www.episcopalchurch.org/.
