Dont Stop! We All Need to Be Encouraged.

Don’t stop! We all need to be encouraged. We all have those moments when we need encouragement to remain optimistic about our goals.

Writing has always come easily to me, but taking the necessary steps that followed the publishing of my first manuscript threw me into a near breakdown. I am a writer by nature, not a computer wizard. Navigating these mysterious passageways of the computer world baffles me. I often need encouragement’s empowerment to keep me capable of moving forward.

From early on, I have desired to write for God. I would awaken each morning and boldly whisper these words. Dear God, what do You want me to put down into words today?” This resourceful system worked as inspirational thoughts flowed through my fingers and transformed into typed words onto a document.

To be fair, my efficient methodology disregards the editing and grammar parts, especially spelling. Due to this reason, I adore being a writer in the age of computers. I never have to suffer the grueling labor of word-by-word inking in a full three-hundred-page manuscript. But then I entered the realm of asserting myself to the world. My mind drifted from, “What would You, Lord, want me to write?” to “What would gain me more readers?

Before starting this blog, I plowed forth creating “Crystalisms.” With bold enthusiasm, I posted them on my Facebook group. I made each one from captivating photos my sweetie and I took over the years. When I saw reactions and comments from my loyal followers, it filled me with warmth and encouragement. But as time marched on—by time, I am referring to less than a year—my numbers remained small in scale. I fell into the trap of discouragement.

Help Me, God

More than once, I toyed with the idea of quitting. But God kept me from making that formidable mistake by placing a pertinent scripture to mind, II Chronicles 15:7 (LB) “Keep up the good work and don’t get discouraged, for you will be rewarded.” He also re-enlightened me to Ezra 5:5 (LB) “But because the Lord was overseeing the entire situation, our enemies did not force us to stop building.” Soon, those words adapted in my thoughts into this personalized version—“Because Jesus oversees my writing career, enemies cannot stop it.”

Soon I gained confidence in the realization that it does not matter how many people follow my blog and other social media sites or read my books. All that matters is that I continue to write for God. I admit that on and off, I must assure myself with a pep talk to keep me from falling into the trap of discouragement. To not teeter, I taped both scriptures onto the keyboard of my computer. That way, I always have that powerful reminder.
