Love Yourself with Truth. Plant Roots in Fertile Ground.

Love Yourself with Truth and plant your roots in fertile ground. Often, this is not an easy thing to do. We all tend to close our eyes when reality becomes too difficult to bear. This vital survival tactic sometimes is chosen, and sometimes it results from automatic blindness. Yet often, that which temporarily nurtures you through one phase of life later becomes a strangulation source to your growth.

When a Seed Strays

Frequently a seed will stray from its Parent, then take shelter and begin to germinate in a different location. Within this brand-new haven, tender shoots take root as they stretch into foreign, solid ground. This sheltered space can provide everything needed to nourish the sapling’s early growth. However, the host’s limited accommodation proves inadequate for expanding roots that seek fresh ground. As a result, if this occupant remains, it cannot reach full maturity. In time this once vibrant plant will wither and die.

Tree Lovers

Being a tree lover, I have rescued countless saplings that have begun their germination in insufficient terrains. I ache as I face the reality that I cannot save them all. Far too many oak, elm, maple, birch, and pine seedlings find their way into our gardens. They also cluster within crevices along our drive and too close to roadways. They are blind to the fact that they are putting down roots in spaces that will ultimately stop any chance of reaching full maturity. There isn’t time nor space to move every newly-budded wayward tree onto fertile ground. No human being could ever save them all, but the everlasting love of Christ can.

Robin’s Gift

I am currently in the final editing process of my next book, Robin’s Gift. https://www.crystalmmhuntley.com/about-the-author/ True-to-life situations I shared with some of my dearest childhood friends became my inspiration for this work of fiction. Every time I write, I marvel at the ever-fascinating twist fiction allows me to liberate within. My current anticipated release date is somewhere within the first quarter of 2024.

As is typical for me, I struggle to formulate the about-the-book description for my book cover. This single paragraph proves far more challenging than writing an entire story. As I grappled with this task for Robin’s Gift, it occurred that Natalie, a main character, resembles this misplaced seedling.

Her original germination space did not contain the necessary components to nurture her. As a result, Natalie allowed the wind to carry her off toward a foreign land. She stretched her roots into fresh soil and drank the abundant nourishment it offered her. Natalie found shelter within this brand-new haven and reaped the needed protection to grow. This newly found, safe space provided Natalie with an abundance of blessings. Yet in time, it, too, became inadequate in allowing Natalie to reach full maturity. To achieve that goal, Natalie had to turn home to her Maker.

Are You a Weed?

A weed is nothing more than a plant growing in the wrong place. While still a tender sapling, its roots can form, but if it remains in this inhabitable space, it will be strangled or shaded out by the glory of other surrounding plants. However, transplant this same sapling elsewhere, and it will flourish. Are you growing where you were meant to be? In not, are various surrounding aspects stunting your growth, keeping you from reaching full maturity?

God is in the seed-planting business. And yet, the winds of life blow their gusts of putrid air, threatening to knock us off course. Because of this, it is crucial to stand tall amidst adversity and go where your Lord leads you. Nurture what our Good Savior has sown into you and live your genuine self.
